A woman has revealed how she caught out her cat-sitter after her pet feline decided to sneakily join her holiday.

Mother-of-two Meagan Herrick, believed to be from the US, found her furry friend Figgy hiding in the family’s campervan after they set off for their trip and arrived at their camping site.

Posting a clip to TikTok earlier this week, she showed the awkward text exchange she had with the person supposed to be looking after her pet.

In the video, which has since been liked more than 748,000 times, Meagan shared how the cat-sitter lied and insisted the animal was doing ‘great’ and had just been ‘checked on’ after the owner played dumb about the feline’s whereabouts.

Deciding to check in on her cat-sitter after not hearing from them, Meagan pretended she had no idea where the pet was, and messaged: ‘Hey! How’s the kitty doing?’

They responded: ‘Great, just checked on her, she’s so sweet.’ unaware that the cat had sneaked on to the family’s campervan.

Meagan then snapped a photo of her feline friend relaxing in the motorhome and replied: ‘She snuck in our camper.’

Thousands of viewers were keen to comment on the clip, with some suggesting they’d ditch the cat-sitter for a new one, while others suggested the person was likely to be ‘panicking’ over ‘losing’ Figgy.

‘I would totally get a new cat-sitter for sure,’ one person wrote, while another said: ‘Poor cat-sitter didn’t want to ruin your vacation while they’re at your house panicking.’

Updating her followers, Meagan shared a second video about the incident, captioning it: My cat-sitter is an A-hole! Or I am, not sure which one.’

Replying to her last message, the cat-sitter said: ‘Must have been your other cat,’ but Meagan was quick to respond: ‘I don’t have another cat.’

The person then shared a snap of a different feline and wrote: ‘Then who’s cat is this?’, with Meagan insisting: ‘That is not my cat.’

But the cat-sitter was only joking with the mother-of-two after noticing a previous TikTok clip already revealing the pet had hitched a ride with the family.

They explained: ‘Hahaha I know. I saw your TikTok before you told me, I’m just messing with you.’
