Episode one kicked off with the contestants getting to know each other while also speaking candidly about their love lives.

With a new episode airing each night for a week, many Twitter users have already said that the show is everything Love Island should be.

A stream of Twitter users have said the BBC reality show seems more genuine and features a more diverse cast than Love Island

Contestant Lauren Alexandra, from Birmingham, was a key focus of episode one as she struggled to enjoy the holiday because of her past heartbreak.

‘You need to move on, move forward and remove all of that bad energy,’ her best friend Brooklyn said after making a surprise appearance.

‘You need to let go and put yourself first and think about you. Holding onto like your exes and past relationships is actually no good for you. And even though you’re so focused, you look so happy and like you’ve got everything under control you actually don’t.’

Lauren concluded with her friend that the holiday could help her to come back to the UK a new person if she could learn to let go.
