Easy cinnamon swirl mug recipe takes just one minute in the microwave to cook12/30/2020
There's no such thing as too much dessert during the Christmas period.
And if you fancy something really sweet, here's a tasty recipe for you.
A cinnamon swirl would usually be the answer to your prayers but it's not always quick to make.
But a new recipe by Taste This Now uses ingredients you're bound to have in your cupboards and it can be cooked in the microwave.
It's incredibly delicious and easy to cook to make a scrumptious winter dessert this festive period.
Taste This Now shared it on YouTube earlier this month and it's super simple to follow the instructions too.
Ingredients for the cake:
- 4 tablespoons of self-raising flour (or 4 tablespoons of plain flour and half a teaspoon of baking powder)
- 1 tablespoon of light brown sugar
- Pinch of salt
- Eighth of a teaspoon of cinnamon
- 4 chopped pecans (optional)
- 2 tablespoons of milk
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
Ingredients for the swirl:
- Half teaspoon of melted butter
- 1 teaspoon of light brown sugar
- Half teaspoon of cinnamon
Ingredients for the icing:
- 1 tablespoon of icing sugar
- Half teaspoon of milk
Start by mixing the dry ingredients, then the nuts followed by the wet bits.
Set your mug aside and in a small bowl combine your swirl ingredients.
Gently fold your swirl into the mug mixture, but be careful not to do it too much where you'll lose the marble effect.
Then put your mug into the microwave for 1 minute and 15 seconds.
While this is cooking, use your swirl bowl to make your icing.
Make sure you don't rinse it as the residual cinnamon left will add a spiced touch.
Finally, once your cake is done, pour the icing over the top and there you have it!
