Demi Lovato has learned her lesson when it comes to seeking stability in others.

“I noticed that a behavior of mine was jumping into relationships with men,” Lovato, 28, told Ashley Graham on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Friday. “And sometimes a relationship to other people, and especially to me, looked like stability. But that’s not always the answer.”

During the candid conversation with Graham, 33, Lovato explained that the realization came after she started exploring her sexuality.

“I actually found stability more on my own,” she continued.

However, Lovato, who identifies as pansexual, hasn’t ruled out diving back into relationships in the future. “I got needs and my needs need to be met at some point,” Lovato said during the interview. “So that’s going to happen, and I’m excited for that. That’ll be fun.”

“But in the meantime, I’m chillin’.”

Lovato’s recent revelation stacks up against her relationship history. Her most recent relationship was her short-lived engagement to Max Ehrich in 2020. Shortly after Lovato sparked rumors of a romance with Noah Cyrus while recording new music together.

Prior to her whirlwind romance with Ehrich, Lovato had been romantically linked to a handful of people, including model Austin Wilson and “The Bachelorette” star Mike Johnson.

One of Lovato’s most notable and high profile relationships was with actor Wilmer Valderrama, whom she dated on-and-off for several years after she turned 18 in 2010. The pair finally split for good in 2016 claiming they were “better as best friends.”
