PRINCE Harry has dressed up as Spider Man to record a heartwarming Christmas video message for bereaved kids.

The Duke of Sussex wore the Marvel hero's outfit in a surprise appearance for Scotty's Little Soldiers, a charity which helps young people who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the Armed Forces.

The lovely clip was played for the youngsters at the charity's Christmas party.

He appeared under Spidey's legendary mask and remained anonymous until the shock reveal at the end of the video.

Donning the iconic red and blue costume, he said: "Christmas is a time where we miss our loved ones really, really badly, and that’s okay, but at the same time it can be possible to feel guilty for having fun without our parents.

"But I’m here to assure you that our parents always want us to have fun, so don’t feel guilty.

"You’re allowed to have the best time ever, especially with the Scotty’s Little Soldiers community."

He finished by saying: "So go out there, have the best time and Merry Christmas."

Much to the surprise of those watching, he then removed his mask and revealed his identity.

The charity, of which Harry has been a longstanding supporter, hoped the kids would be able to relate to superheroes like Spider Man and Batman.

The loss of a loved one is central to both character's backstory and in motivating them to become heroes.

It comes as the Duke and his wife Meghan are set to release a behind-the-scenes Netflix documentary series within days.

The first trailer for the show was released on Thursday and provoked controversy, with some suggesting the release was deliberately timed to draw focus from William and Kate's US tour.

Harry is also preparing to release his explosive £35million memoir early next year.

The book was reportedly delayed so it could be toned down after the death of the late-Queen.
