I'm a Dollar Tree worker – my biggest pet hate forces me to jump on the intercom and shout at customers

A DOLLAR Tree worker has revealed that their biggest pet hate forces them to shout at customers on the intercom.

The unnamed employee said they get furious when children start bouncing basketballs in the aisles.

They vented on Reddit: “I can’t stand when customers, mainly kids and young guys, grab a basketball and start bouncing it through the store.”

The worker said they use the intercom to warn customers not to bounce balls in-store.

They added: “Whenever I hear a ball bouncing, I jump on that phone and sternly and professionally tell the customers not to bounce them.”

Other workers said that kids throwing balls in-store is among their pet hates too.

And, another employee claimed two kids, between six and seven, ran around the store and shot each other with water guns.

They said: “I asked them nicely to please be careful and to try avoiding getting hurt.

“They continued for five more minutes before finally stopping.”

Redditors slammed children that think the “world is their playground”.

Other Dollar Tree employees revealed that their pet hate was customers who tried glasses and took off their masks during the fitting process.

One said: “Ofc they also struggle to put everything back and/or dropped them.

“They then would usually start shopping with their mask around their chin and I’d have to watch them realize their mistake.”

Meanwhile, another employee was left exasperated after being constantly quizzed about the cost of the store's frozen food.

Dollar Tree is renowned for selling hundreds of items that cost just $1.25.

But, some stores have a Dollar Tree Plus section where items cost between $3 and $5.

Dollar Tree Plus is available in more than 100 stores, according to the Passionate Penny Pincher blog.

The worker said: "We not a Dt+ but we now have Dt+ Frozen. Yay this will be fun (not) already had 10 people thinking these are $1.25 like hello didn't you see all of the signs???."

CUSTOMER'S FURY

Meanwhile, a worker recalled the moment a customer was left furious at how they bagged their shopping.

On one occasion, a lady bought some cookies, a nail clipper, and two cockroach traps.

Furious at the way the cashier bagged her shopping, the lady allegedly said: “Damn I have to bag my own s**t bc your stupid ass didn’t do it how I wanted to.”

The worker thought to himself that the customer would prefer their way of bagging groceries if she realized she would have had to pack them herself at Aldi.

Aldi is renowned for its rapid checkout process as cashiers quickly scan groceries before putting them into the shopping cart.

Stores have a long counter where shoppers can organize their groceries before heading to their cars.
