Vinnie Jones pays tribute to late wife Tanya on 26th wedding anniversary
06/25/2020Vinnie Jones has paid tribute to his late wife Tanya on the couple’s 26th wedding anniversary.
Tanya passed away nearly a year ago in July 2019, following a long battle with cancer.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Vinnie shared a sweet throwback of the couple together on their honeymoon in honour of their marriage and insisted he will remember Tanya ‘forever’ in a heartbreaking message.
Vinnie penned: ‘Today is our 26th Anniversary. I remember our honeymoon in Juan-Les-Pins ; a honeymoon of happiness from two children having fun in our not so torn rags, where do you go to my lovely.
‘I think of you every night in my bed, are there diamonds and pearls still in your hair, I wish I could be buying you a racehorse for Christmas and keeping it just for fun for a laugh ahaha.’
He continued: ‘Just look into my face little Tans and i’ll remember just who you are, and i’ll go on and remember you forever because we will always have our beautiful star, deep inside yes we will.’
‘I know where you go to my lovely, when im alone in my bed, you know the thoughts that surround me, because you were always the only one that could look inside my head. xxx Vin,’ Vinnie sweetly signed off.
Tanya died aged 53 surrounded by her family in Los Angeles.
Vinnie and Tanya married back in 1994 and the Snatch star is thought to be close to his step-daughter, Kaley.
In 2013, Vinnie confirmed that both he and Tanya – who’d previously had a heart transplant at the age of 21 following the birth of her daughter – were battling skin cancer.
Tanya had previously been treated twice for cervical cancer and was later diagnosed with malignant melanoma, the most serious form of skin cancer.
Following her death, Vinnie had appeared on X Factor: Celebrity and he has credited Simon Cowell for helping him with his grief.
Vinnie previously signed up to the show because wife Tanya had been a huge fan and on his exit – he was eliminated just before the show’s final – he thanked Simon for his help.
‘Simon, thank you so much for getting me through my grief, helping me a hell of a lot with it,’ Vinnie said.
‘I will always be indebted to you my friend. Thank you very much.’
