TLC’s Chilli Stars In New PETA Campaign Attacking UniverSoul Circus

Animal rights organization PETA has tapped TLC‘s Chilli for a new ad campaign that blasts UniverSoul Circus.

In the video, Chilli is sitting on a circus pedestal with a heavy ball and chain wrapped around her ankle.

“Before being educated myself, I had no idea what the animals went through behind the scenes,” she explains. “They’re … in prison, and no [one] wants to be locked up. They can’t really go outside and roam the way they are supposed to naturally.”

PETA describes UniverSoul Circus as notorious for using abusive exhibitors with long histories of animal welfare violations. The ad proclaims, “Sad. Lonely. Broken. UniverSoul Circus: End Animal Acts.”

Chilli has previously worked with PETA, appearing as a “caged tiger” in an anti-circus campaign.

Other celebrities who have worked with PETA include Jada Pinkett Smith, Noah Cyrus, Olivia Munn, Joaquin Phoenix, Alec Baldwin, and Edie Falco.
