Sam Faiers and Luisa Zissman return to Moldova orphanage to be reunited with children

Sam Faiers and Luisa Zissman have jetted back to Moldova to visit an orphanage.

Former The Mummy Diaries star Sam, 30, was reduced to tears as she was taken to the orphanage by her former Apprentice star Luisa, 34, in 2019.

Sam and Luisa had originally planned to return in March 2020, but were forced to postpone their trip amid the coronavirus pandemic.

As travel restrictions continue to ease, Sam and Luisa have travelled back to the Eastern European country to return to the orphanage.

Former TOWIE star Sam shared a photo of herself and Luisa dressed in grey charity jumpers and leggings and surrounded by suitcases in an airport.

She then told her 2.5 million followers in the caption: "Here we are on our way to visit the babies, children & teens at the orphanage in Moldova.

"Last time @luisazissman and I came was Autumn 2019, we planned to come back in March 2020 but covid stopped that.

"The money we raised last time was amazing, it funded the orphanage for the guts of a year but sadly no other fundraising efforts have been able to go ahead due to restrictions in 2021."

Sam added: "When Suzie the doctor who runs the orphanage called us to tell us they were in desperate need we organised a trip straight away.

"We cannot wait to see all the children again give them a cuddle & spend some time with them" she penned alongside a pink heart emoji.

The mum-of-two then added: "We have missed them so much. They need us now more than ever It’s going to be a tough trip, but I know together we can all help".

Sam then urged her fans to follow herself and Luisa on their journey. She has also set up a Just Giving page to help raise money for the orphanage.

The fundraising page has already received £2,312 in donations so far. Sam and Luisa hope to raise £40,000.

Mum-of-two Sam was moved by her first ever visit to the orphanage in 2019, which Luisa has been supporting for years before the visit.

Sam revealed the visit changed her outlook on life as she previously told OK!: "To think of all those littles ones abandoned with no one to love them was so sad.”

She added: “It makes you realise how lucky we are, how lucky our children are and it makes you appreciate the small things."

While Luisa added: “It’s such a stark reality and it’s so hard to converse to someone who hasn’t been there and hasn’t seen it, how good we all have it.”
