Piers Morgan: ‘P**s off disgusting vermin’ GMB star in Twitter row after US shootings

Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan, 54, reacted to the ongoing news of two shootings in America this week, in which he hit back at Twitter users and queried President Donald Trump, 73.

Last week, 20 people were confirmed dead after a suspected 21-year-old gunman went on a shooting massacre in El Paso, Texas.

A further nine people died and 16 others were injured in a massacre shooting in Dayton, Ohio.

The tragedy was reported as the second mass killing in the US in a matter of hours.

Piers responded to a statement shared by National Rifle Association on their official Twitter page.

In their lengthy post, they paid a tribute to the victims of the shootings and said they are “committed to the safe and lawful use of firearms by those exercising their Second Amendment freedoms”.

Piers shared their tweet in view of his 6.73 million followers with the caption: “Oh p*** off you disgusting vermin. YOU are why America is shooting itself to death.”

The journalist also responded to a Twitter user who said in a post: “No matter what gun laws ‘they’ will still find a way to get illegal guns.”

They added: “We all need to get our concealed carry license. That way when these IDIOTS come shooting to kill, there is like 45+ guns shooting back at them.”

Piers responded, writing: “Of course! The only logical answer is millions more guns! WHAT THE F**K IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?”

The host also queried President Trump’s actions after sharing the news on Twitter.

He wrote: “Two of the worst mass shootings in recent US history in less than 24hrs.

“FFS, America – what are you going to do about this gun carnage? Especially YOU, President @realDonaldTrump.”(sic)

A Twitter user hit back at Piers’ tweet, writing: “It’s not Trump’s fault. It’s not the NRA’s fault.

“When will our nation wake up and realize we have a youth mental health crisis likely caused by over-medication, absentee parents, and a culture that glorifies infamy and notoriety above God, family and community?”

Piers replied: “So why let them legally get their hands on military-style assault weapons & high capacity magazines to commit mass murder?”

When news of the first shooting was reported, Piers Morgan said the massacre was “not shocking”.

He wrote: “US cable news anchors/reporters all describing this horrific Texas gun massacre as ‘shocking’? Why?

“It’s the 249th mass shooting in America THIS YEAR.”

Piers added: “Nothing about this is ‘shocking’. It’s entirely predictable when nothing is done to stop it happening.”

Piers also shard CCTV images said to be of the gunman and said: “The snivelling f***ing coward: Patrick Crusius, 21, from Dallas. #ElPaso.”
