Billie Eilish fans shut down Twitter trolls for objectifying the 17-year-old artist

Despite her efforts to avoid sexualizing herself, Twitter trolls objectified Billie Eilish, sparking outrage from her fans.

The 17-year-old “bad guy” singer was recently photographed wearing a white tank top under one of her signature baggy sweatshirts, and one Twitter user was quick to comment on the top’s tight fit and Eilish’s body.

Soon after, Eilish’s fans came in full force to defend the teenage singer.

“This is the actual legitimate reason she is always wearing oversized clothes,” wrote one Twitter user. 

“It’s sad that women honestly have to announce they don’t want to be sexualized and even wear certain clothing not to be but there’s still creeps who will go ahead and STILL do so- smh,” said another.

Fans also said the comment about her body was especially inappropriate, given Eilish’s young age.

“again you baboon of a male. don’t sexualize Billie (or any woman in general) especially if she’s a minor and she doesn’t feel comfortable being sexualized,” a user commented.

A fellow celeb even spoke up for Eilish as well. 

“she wears baggy clothes all her career and then the one moment she puts on a tank top y’all jump on her immediately and oversezualize her lol y’all need to back up shes literally 17 YEARS OLD,” tweeted model Justine Biticon.

The musician, whose look usually consists of loose sweaters and baggy pants, said she wears large clothes to keep her body out of the spotlight.

“I never want the world to know everything about me,” the teen said in a Calvin Klein ad last month. “I mean, that’s why I wear big baggy clothes. Nobody can have an opinion because they haven’t seen what’s underneath.

“Nobody can be like, ‘Oh, she’s slim thick. She’s not slim thick. She got a flat (expletive). She’s got a fat (expletive),’ ” she added. “No one can say any of that because they don’t know. “

Eilish, as an artist, has seen a quicker ascent. In April, she bowed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart with her debut “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” less than two years after releasing her “Don’t Smile at Me” EP.
