The new multi-million-pound UK beach attraction with 'play factory', skatepark and live shows | The Sun

A HUGE new attraction could soon open on a beach in the UK – with a 'play factory' for kids and an outdoor performance area.

The multi-million-pound project, called the Beach Masterplan, is part of a regeneration of Aberdeen Beach.

The main feature is a huge play area for kids called The Rope Factory, with images showing climbing structures, swings and slides.

There will be interactive displays as well as activities and events taking place at the park.

A games area and a skatepark could be included, designed to encourage younger guests.

A huge events park will also be part of the project, called the Beach Ballroom, which will have outdoor concerts and festivals.

A new building called the "gateway" will welcome people to the new attraction on Beach Boulevard to "enhance the sense of arrival".

A second building called the "hub" will create a "focal point" for the park.

The Aberdeen City Council website states online: "The City Centre and Beach Masterplan is designed to capitalise on the built and natural assets of the area which is a tourism priority in its own right and will continue to be in demand as people seek safe, outdoor, wildlife, and active experiences.

"The beach area is also an intrinsic component of the Aberdeen Coastal Trail, and the wide variety of tourism offer that includes nature, golf, maritime history, and dolphin watching."

Locals on social media were conflicted, with some loving it.

One said: "Will be a massive improvement on what currently is there which is not very attractive to visitors."

Another said: "It will look lovely when it's complete I'm sure."

However, not everyone was convinced – one woman commented: "Looks nice. But not sure I believe it’ll happen."
