Southwest Airlines welcomes new city, Syracuse, new international routes

06/10/2021

Southwest Airlines is serving another new city: Syracuse, New York.

Southwest typically adds one or two new cities a year, but this year it has already added more than a dozen, including Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Eugene, Oregon.

Flights to and from Syracuse Hancock International begin on Nov. 14.

“Our latest destination in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York not only allows New Yorkers easier access to our growing network, but brings the offerings of Upstate New York to our existing Customers,” Southwest’s Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Vice President Andrew Watterson said in a statement.

Syracuse marks the 121st airport served by Southwest, which carries more domestic passengers than any other U.S. airline.
