When you’re on a very early morning flight, this hotel is an absolute no brainer.

Gone are the fears over your taxi turning up late, or the parking costing an arm and a leg, or your children getting car-sick on the way there.

And it even banishes the ‘what if I miss the airport transfer bus and miss my flight’ worry. Pure joy.

Lots of little touches to make the first evening of your holiday go smoothly – there’s an area to print your boarding cards – and the staff know lots about the airport itself.

There’s also a small fitness centre.

Eat here for sure – the breakfast bar opens at 4am with a free continental breakfast for guests – but a huge selection of English breakfast items too.

Food is decent – all pub-grub style – steak and chips etc but good sized portions and well priced.

The rooms are great – an aviation geek’s delight, with half of them actually facing the runway, with triple glazing – which makes for an exciting view.

Large, comfy beds, lots of storage space for holiday suitcases, a decent bathroom, good water pressure, and very clean.
