Disney cast members reveal secrets of the theme park including how to make rides go faster and what gets you BANNED

DISNEY fans planning their next trip to the theme parks can get a much more exciting experience, with top tips revealed by cast members.

From making rides faster to what will get you banned, they have revealed the best insider secrets.

One of the popular rides at Disneyland, the Mad Hatter Teacups, can be made to go faster depending on where you sit.

Of the 18 teacups, staff members revealed that passengers who want to go the fastest should head for the orange cup which is known to have the fastest spinner.

The purple cup is also a faster cup – but avoid the heart cups as they are the slowest.

However, one person who claimed to work the ride at the theme park said this was no longer the case, as they were updated in 2005.

They wrote on a Disney forum: "The wheel in the middle doesn't actually spin or move.

"What makes the teacups spin is body movement, hence the reason they go so fast when there are multiple adults in one cup."

So adults who want a faster ride, even if they don't get in the "faster" tea cup, should avoid riding with kids and instead opt for grown-up passengers.

Another expert revealed that riding a rollercoaster later in the day may mean you go faster.

Brian Morrow, Corporate Vice President for Theme Park Experience at SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment, explained: "A coaster running in the morning could run slower when cooler.

“The wheels are not as warm, the bearings are warming up. That could be different by 2pm, with a slicked-up wheel chassis."

Want to avoid broken down rides? Disney fan David Vaughn explained how to do this on the Indiana Jones ride, which is prone to maintenance work.

He said: "I purposefully started getting FastPasses [for the ride] around that time – like 2pm or 3pm – and I’ve done this maybe half a dozen times and it has worked every single time."

He then said that when it breaks down, and they can't use their free daily Fast Pass, they get free multi-use FastPasses as a refund.

A former Disney employee agreed that it worked: "I used to work at Indiana Jones and thought people who did this were so smart as we used to break down all the time."

IN FOR A RIDE

On the other end of the scale, cast members have revealed the ways guests can get themselves banned from the park.

One of them is to scatter a loved one's ashes in the theme park.

While it is often dubbed the happiest place on Earth, guests who are caught doing this will be taken off the premises.

Wearing fancy dress as an adult will also get you kicked out, as the park has a strict policy that only cast members can dress up as the Disney characters.

This has led to guests "Disney Bounding" to get around the rules, which sees fans wear normal outfits inspired by their favourite characters.

Other secrets include the "staff cats" which kill rodents at night and why the bins are always painted green.

Disney World is celebrating its50th anniversary this year – and it has some special holiday package deals for Brits.
