Couple fake their anniversary cruise at home after it was cancelled due to coronavirus – The Sun

A COUPLE who had their holiday plans cancelled decided to make the most of it – by turning their living room into a cruise trip.

Norma and Dave, 74, had booked a 10-day cruise around the Pacific Islands to celebrate their 53rd wedding anniversary.

However, the retired pair's plans were ruined due to the coronavirus outbreak, meaning they weren't able to go on their holiday.

Instead of letting it get them down, they decided to make the most of it from their home.

Wearing dressing gowns in lounge chairs, the married couple, from Melbourne, pretended they were looking out at the sea view by using their TV.

They even added a glass of wine each and sunglasses to add to the holiday vibe.

Their attempt was filmed by their daughter Jane, who then shared it on social media.

She wrote "cruise cancelled? No problem" while her parents clinked their glasses as they watched the 'sea view' on TV.
Twitter users loved their way of staying positive, with one person commenting: "A unique idea. I love it, It looks just like as if they are looking off the balcony."

Another person added: "This is gold!! Happy anniversary to Norma and Dave."

Jane explained why they decided to film it: "They cancelled their trip due to the coronavirus and we thought we would cheer them up by simulating the trip using a YouTube video of ocean and they dressed in their usual cruising attire.

"We laughed for ages over it and it really lifted our spirits."
