Iris Hotel, Conwy – from £44 a night

Iris Hotel is a small, family-run property located on the promenade in the Welsh town of Llandudno.

There’s a choice of double or family rooms, with the option to add a full cooked breakfast to your stay.

Y Gogarth Great Orme Country Park is close by, or you could drive to Snowdonia National Park for an active break.

The Sandown Seafront on the Isle of Wight is a new hotel for Premier Inn and it’s right on the esplanade. 

Like other Premier Inn properties, you can choose from double, twin and family rooms and tag on breakfast.

The property is also close to family-friendly attractions such as Dinosaur Island and Isle of Wight Zoo.

Best Western The Lothersdale Hotel, Lancashire – from £65 a night

The Lothersdale Hotel is located on the central promenade in Morecambe, so it’s a great option for those who want to be by the beach with plenty to do nearby.

Most of the rooms are twins or doubles and come with tea and coffee facilities.

Breakfast isn’t generally included in the price but you can also opt to stay on a B&B or half board basis.

The Royal Clarence Hotel, Somerset – from £71 a night

The Royal Clarence Hotel is located in the heart of Burnham-on-Sea and is right across the road from the beach.

While there are no restaurants or bars on site, there are plenty of local options within a two minute walk of the property.

Most of the rooms are twins or doubles, but you can book self-catered apartments as well.

Girvan Guest House, Ayrshire – from £80 a night

Located in the popular seaside town of Girvan, the Girvan Guest House is a small boutique property right by the beach with lots of walks nearby.

All of the rooms are doubles, and some even have their own terraces.

A continental breakfast is included in the price.

Furzedown Hotel, Great Yarmouth – from £84 per night

The Furzedown Hotel faces out onto the ocean and is just across the road from The Venetian Waterways, an ornamental garden and boating lake by the beach in Great Yarmouth.

The 3* property has its own garden and bar, as well as free parking for hotel guests.

A full English breakfast is included in the room rate, and there are family rooms as well as twins and doubles.

Garddfon Inn, Gwynedd – from £85 a night

While not strictly facing out onto the sea, Garddfon Inn does have a lovely view of Menai Strait, the bit of water that cuts off Anglesea from the mainland.

It’s located in the village of Y Felinheli, which has a gorgeous protected harbour with a pebble beach.

The property is relatively small, with a mix of doubles or twins only, but it has its own garden, bar and restaurant.

The Pennington, Cumbria – from £89 per night 

The Pennington is located in the picturesque village of Ravenglass, on the edge of the Lake District so you can relax by the sea or go for hikes in the countryside.

The 3* beachfront hotel is just a three-minute walk from the nearest railway station so it’s easily accessible by train.

You can choose from a mix of family rooms, twin and doubles, and there’s also the option to add breakfast and dinner to your stay.

The Esplanade Hotel, Argyll and Bute – from £100 a night

Located in the town of Dunoon in the Cowal Peninsula, The Esplanade Hotel is a lovely beachfront property with a lush lawn that stretches right down to the coast.

There’s a terrace where you can make the most of the lovely weather, or take advantage of the coastal walks nearby.

There’s a mix of doubles, twins and family rooms to choose from, and breakfast can be added on for an extra fee.
