Beer fans may want to consider a trip to Aberdeen, where BrewDog is opening the first of a series of beer-themed hotels in the UK.

The BrewDog Kennels will offer rooms where the minibar is stocked with craft beers, the decor pays tribute to the brewery's logo, and you even get a mini fridge filled with beer in the shower, if you fancy a drink while you lather up.

Rooms will also offer extra touches including bath robes, a beer book library, board games, toiletries, French-press coffee and even a record player/vinyl and guitar.

Meanwhile, guests will receive a welcome craft beer at check-in, not to mention they can opt for food and beer to be delivered direct to their room.

In a tribute to its name, the hotels will also be fully dog-friendly with dog beds and treats on offer.

BrewDog Kennels is opening the first of its hotels in Aberdeen, above BrewDog Castlegate, with room prices starting from £75 a night (you can already book stays on the website ).

During their stay, guests can also book extras such as beer-themed excursions from a tasting at the 'Beer School' to a guided tour of the company's brewery in Ellon.

The brand is planning to open two more BrewDog Kennels in the UK, in Manchester and London, as well as international offerings in Paris and Berlin.

It's by no means the company's first foray into the world of hotels.

In fact, BrewDog previously revealed plans to build a larger hotel, the DogHouse London , where rooms boast everything from beer fridges in the shower to draft beer in every room, while the hotel will also boast an on-site museum where you can learn all about what goes into creating your favourite drink.

It follows on from the brewery's already existing hotel the DogHouse in Columbus, Ohio.

BrewDog Kennels will offer more of a micro-hotel experience – and its Equity Punks (shareholders) will qualify for a discount on booking.

BrewDog Captain and co-founder, James Watt, commented: "Our BrewDog Kennels are a revolution in accommodation, sparked by too much time spent in immediately forgettable hotel rooms.

"We firmly believe that where you stay in a new city should be your home from home, so have brought the spirit of our DogHouse Hotel and its reverence for great beer to a new series of mini-hotels.

"And what better start for the BrewDog Kennels than our home city? Aberdeen is an incredible place for craft beer so we have upped the ante with our own take on accommodation. To paraphrase the song; you can check out but you may never want to leave."
