Is Disneyland Paris still open?

The theme park remains open despite the confirmed cases.

The park has quickly reassured guests that the staff who have coronavirus have not been in contact with guests, but that they were being quarantined along with others who had interacted with them.

Disney is reportedly adding new measures to reduce the chances of coronavirus spreading across the park, including more hand sanitiser stations and water points, as well as ending single rider queues and replacing cutlery with disposable options.

It has also closed two attractions – The Princess Pavilion and the concerts and dancing at Billy Bob's venue in the Disney Village.

The Princess Pavillion has reportedly been closed as part of measures to reduce direct contact with tourists as they pose for souvenir photos.

The princesses will instead be moving around the park three times a day on a chariot.

The park is still open despite the ban on large gatherings of more than 1,000 people across France, according to new rules introduced by the government.

Coronavirus cases have soared past 1,700 across France, leading to the strict ban.

What is the latest travel advice for France?

The latest update from the UK government states: "There is an ongoing outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19). The virus originated in China, but cases have been confirmed in other countries, including France where there is an ongoing coronavirus outbreak across France.

"The government has introduced a range of measures including to limit large gatherings in particular those over 5000 attendees. You should contact the organiser of events or local authorities for further information."

Flights are unaffected, with Eurostar confirming there are "no travel restrictions".

Concerned visitors heading to Disneyland Paris should contact their travel insurance provider, as they are unlikely to be issued refund as the theme park remains open.

Here is what you need to know about the rest of the theme parks…

Three of the Disney theme parks have closed – Shanghai Disney, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Tokyo Disneyland.

Many of the parks are not expected to open again any time soon, with no date for the two parks in China while a preliminary date of March 16 for Japan.

Disney World, Florida

Disney World Orlando is remaining open as 23 cases of coronavirus are reported in Florida.

However, the theme park is reassuring guests that they are staying updated with the latest advice and are increasing their health and safety measures.

A Disney spokesperson advised: "We have very stringent sanitation procedures in place at Walt Disney World Resort.

"We are in close contact with health agencies for information and guidance, and at this time, we are continuing to communicate to our Cast the importance of preventative measures such as frequent hand-washing and rigorous cleaning processes.

"For guest convenience, we have placed additional hand sanitisers throughout our parks and resorts and will adjust our protocols as the situation warrants."

It is advised to keep up to date with the latest advice as it is likely to change at short notice.

Disneyland California is also open, despite California declaring a state of emergency due to coronavirus.
