Zendaya Renegotiates ‘Euphoria’ Contract To Earn $1 Million Per Episode

Zendaya may have an estimated net worth of $20 million, but it’s only going to increase thanks to her newly renegotiated Euphoria contract.

According to a report by Puck News, the actress “just closed a big re-negotiation” that entitles her to nearly $1 million per episode. This makes Zendaya’s Euphoria salaries one of the biggest in T.V. history, now rivalling the Friends cast in the sitcom’s final season.

It’s not surprising that Zendaya is earning more than ever for the hit HBO show, given that she’s made history with it multiple times.

She became an executive producer in the show’s second season, which lead to her becoming the youngest person ever to receive an Emmy nomination for producing when she was only 25. Prior to that, she won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Rue Bennett in Euphoria.

Zendaya’s salary may be a big expense for the HBO show, but it pales in comparison to Euphoria’s overall budget. The first season alone cost approximately $165 million, and its third season will likely be even pricier.

Fans are anxious to know when the third season of Euphoria will drop, but it’ll likely take some time – especially if Zendaya only finalized her contract recently.

In February 2023, her co-star Maude Apatow said that filming wasn’t supposed to begin until later in the year. With that in mind, the third season likely won’t be available until the following year.

If Zendaya is getting a pay raise, it could be a sign that her other castmates will see a rise in their salaries. One Euphoria star who’s criticized the pay of actors in general is Sydney Sweeney.

“If I wanted to take a six-month break, I don’t have income to cover that,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “I don’t have someone supporting me, I don’t have anyone I can turn to, to pay my bills or call for help.”

“The established stars still get paid, but I have to give 5 percent to my lawyer, 10 percent to my agents, 3 percent or something like that to my business manager,” she continued. “I have to pay my publicist every month, and that’s more than my mortgage.”

Sydney added, “They don’t pay actors like they used to, and with streamers, you no longer get residuals.”

If the rest of the Euphoria cast doesn’t see a pay increase, they may be miffed at Zendaya’s huge contract renegotiation.
