It was a family affair today as three generations of royals turned out at Ascot, and Zara Tindall in particular seemed overjoyed to be reunited with her relatives.  

The monarch’s granddaughter, 38, looked highly amused as she joked around with her husband Mike, 40, and her cousin Prince William, 36, at the Berkshire racecourse.

Holding on to the Duke of Cambridge’s arm, Princess Anne’s daughter seemed to look jokingly gobsmacked as she conversed with her cousin.

Her husband also put on an affectionate display with William, as Mike reached his hands forward to cradle the royal’s face.

Meanwhile, as Zara offered Kate a kiss on the cheek, the pair could be spotted sharing a friendly chat, before the horse-lover wrapped an arm around her uncle Prince Charles.  

Zara looked effortlessly stylish in a vibrantly multi-coloured, floral dress as she attended the prestigious occasion alongside a slew of royals.

And the mother-of-two didn’t miss the royals’ memo on colour as she matched alongside the Duchess of Cambridge and the Queen with a delicate blue hat.

She completed her ensemble with a pair of nude heels and a matching clutch bag, while sporting dainty diamond earrings.

With her hair sleeked back into a low-sitting bun, the equestrian finished her glamorous look with a smattering of light makeup.

Elsewhere, her husband looked as dashing as ever, clad in a dapper, grey, three-piece suit, with a blue tie to match his wife’s outfit.

The father-of-two also donned an antique silk top hat from Oliver Brown, the official men’s formal wear licensee of Royal Ascot.

Also in attendance at the event were Prince Charles, 70, and the Duchess of Cornwall, 70, Princess Eugenie, and Sophie Wessex. 

Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands also joined the British royals after attending the Order of the Garter Service at Windsor Castle yesterday. 

Royal Ascot, the jewel in the crown of the UK racing calendar, starts today with the Queen Anne Stakes and will run until Saturday. 

The five-day racing festival is one of the most glittering events in the summer social calendar.

TV presenters, models and society beauties led the glamour as Royal Ascot kicked off in style today. 

Lady Kitty Spencer, Kirsty Gallacher and Charlotte Hawkins were among the well-dressed racegoers who pulled out all the fashion stops and refused to let a bit of rain dampen their fun.
