Your Weekly Tarot Card Reading, by Zodiac Sign

10/10/2022

You don’t need to know the difference between a three-card and a Celtic cross spread to get the most out of a tarot card reading. All you need: your Sun sign! Here’s what I do: Shuffle my tarot deck and pull out the cards in order from Aries to Pisces, plus one general card for everyone so that you can get specific advice around your personality. Let’s go!

A GENERAL CARD FOR EVERYONE: SEVEN OF PENTACLES

Just because you’ve been doing something for a long, long time doesn’t mean you should continue forever. Things change. We grow. Circumstances shift. The Seven of Pentacles is a little reminder to all of us that we are free to move on, make a change, and try a fresh path anytime we choose. There are no obligations. There are no ties that can’t be loosened, if not cut. You are free to change direction. Take a deep breath and remember that.

ARIES: SIX OF WANDS

A wonderful week ahead, Aries, and it feels like it’s all coming together at last! The Six of Wands is a victory card. It’s a celebration that you’ve landed in exactly the right spot. So, breathe easy, relax, and savor where you’re at. Your hard work has been rewarded, and life is good. It’s time to enjoy your life.

TAURUS: THE TOWER

Don’t fear The Tower, Taurus. It always provokes a ripple of tension as it predicts big bangs, major revelations, and sudden impacts. Life can get choppy, right? The good news is that whatever happens this week has been a long time coming. The Tower brings things into focus, pressure tests false and fading structures, and collapses things which no longer serve you. This week will be a game-changer.

GEMINI: FIVE OF WANDS

Wherever there is stress, pressure, conflict, or tension in your world, take a closer look. Don’t engage in any of the drama—let it all fade into the background. You are looking for clues. The Five of Wands asks you to look at the truths, background, and facts of the matter. Suss it all out. Get to the root cause. The Five of Wands reminds us that ~noise~ can act as a signal pointing to things that need attention and change. Be ready to solve this problem. Look for a resolution.

CANCER: THREE OF CUPS

The Three of Cups is a lovely card about enjoying your life, having fun, and seeking pleasure. We’re here for a good time, not a long time. Cancer, cut yourself some slack and take a break this week. Look around. Where do you want to go? What do you want to do? Who do you want to spend more time with? Make these things happen this week. If you don’t prioritize pleasure in your own life, no one will do it for you! Be your own party planner and travel agent this week. Make life fun.

LEO: SEVEN OF CUPS

Denial is a funny thing. We don’t see it in ourselves, only others…except sometimes in hindsight. The Seven of Cups is a nudge that you might be clinging to a state of denial about something or someone. This week, you’re ready to see things as they truly are, at last. Stop suppressing or glossing over uncomfortable facts or events. Look them in the face. It’s time for the truth.

VIRGO: ACE OF WANDS

You are ruled by Mercury, and this makes you an eternal student, eager to learn and take on new information and skills. The Ace of Wands asks you to consider what you’d like to dedicate your mental powers to this fall and winter. What topics, skills, themes, or interests are inspiring to you? What would you like to have learned or accomplished by the end of the year? Make a start now.

LIBRA: THE FOOL

The Fool is the tarot’s first card, representing new beginnings. Between now and spring 2023, something is going to emerge in your life that you should run headlong towards, no matter what others say. This might be a new relationship, job, career path, location, home, or activity. Whatever it is, it’s exciting and fun, and you feel enthusiastic about it. This card is permission to pursue it wholeheartedly. You’re ready for a fresh start.

SCORPIO: QUEEN OF SWORDS

Do it your way, Scorpio (you will anyway, I know). Don’t listen to what they’re saying—follow your own agenda. The Queen of Swords is a powerful, independent, and ruthless solo player. This is you at your best: Strong, forceful, focused, and full of purpose. You are creating something important, and right now, other people’s opinions are a distraction. You need to stand your ground and listen to your instincts.

SAGITTARIUS: ACE OF PENTACLES

Good things come to those who wait. Ace of Pentacles shows that you are working hard on a long-term project and will bring you worthwhile rewards and gifts down the line…but not quite yet. Right now, it’s time to carry on working towards your goal, even if it seems far away. (This goal is likely to be related to health, work, money, or home, BTW). Future You will thank you for your effort.

CAPRICORN: SEVEN OF SWORDS

You are a careful, Cap, and you don’t automatically trust everyone. That is an admirable trait that has protected you in the past. The Seven of Swords is a little warning signal that someone untrustworthy or shady might be in or around your circle right now. Play it safe. Don’t engage. Let them pass by. Protect your interests and don’t expose your true desires. If in doubt…don’t.

AQUARIUS: FIVE OF SWORDS

The only way out is through. The Five of Swords is a changeable, choppy card showing that you’re in flux. Don’t try to stop; you’re not done yet. Keep moving this messy situation forwards. Don’t look back or go over old ground. Instead, focus on finding a resolution. You will get through this, stronger and wiser.

PISCES: KING OF WANDS

The King of Wands brings power, ambition, excitement, and opportunity into your world—if only you act confidently and reach out to take what’s on offer! Sometimes you have to take a chance, and this week will present you with plenty of chances. Play a risky hand, make a bold leap, and say “yes” to everything (within reason). You can go further than you think is possible. It all begins with taking a chance.
