12/31/2019

Christmas is over and the New Year is here, soon we'll be taking down the lights and the tree and things will go back to normal.

Packing up the decorations can be a bit of a hassle, but to make things easier for all of us, people have been sharing their top tips for getting sorted.

One woman in particular has revealed her "bargain" advice for ensuring that your Christmas tree lights don't get all tangled up in the storage box – and all you need to keep them tangle-free is one thing.

And that item is an old Pringles carton/tube. Yes, really!

  • Simple Christmas tree mistake that could cause a devastating fire

  • Simple scrunch test will show whether your wrapping paper is recyclable

In a post on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UKFacebook page, the helpful lady wrote: "Discovered a bargain way to keep your lights untangled.

"I taped the lid on an empty tube of Pringles.

"Taped the end of the lights to one end. Wrapped the lights round as I took the lights off the tree. Taped the other end on.

"Works perfectly."

Thousands of people have liked her post, thanking her for her top tip.

This then inspired others to confess their own storage suggestions for fairy lights, including a coat hanger, rolled up newspaper and more.

A user replied: "Pringles tubes are fab, I make a small hole in the lid to insert the plug."

Another said: "Ohhh that's a good reason to go buy Pringles."

A third commented: "I use a coat hanger, but this is a much better idea!"

"I might try this this year," added someone else.
