Woman transforms KFC bucket into beautiful vase and people can’t get enough02/24/2020
A woman has taken upcycling to a new level and has come up with a creative way to make the most of a KFC bargain bucket.
Elaina Sanches shared her efforts on the Organise your home UK Facebook group, with before and after snaps showing how she had transformed the bucket into a beautiful vase.
In the post, she explained that KFC had given her two extra buckets – so, instead of throwing them away, she decided to think of an alternative use for one of them.
She posted, ‘Well I had KFC chicken last night, 3 bucket come up, and 2 was clean. So mad woman here just thought, I’m gone craft it lol.’
Elania painted the exterior of the box with white paint and used decoupage – a method of decorating which involves glueing paper cutouts. This helped her create the floral design she had in mind.
For the final flourishes, she added crochet lace trim on the edges and finished with a pink bow embellishment, for the ultimate makeover
Her ‘after’ photos show how the box could perfectly hold faux flowers or chocolates – so would make for an ideal vase or perfect gift hamper.
Naturally, Elania’s imaginative makeover caught the attention of other members of the crafty Facebook group.
One said, ‘You would never know looks good the sales of KFC going up now lol.’
While another added: ‘This is absolutely beautiful and very creative. You could eat KFC every night and next morning craft buckets and sell.’
‘Very creative! Who would’ve known it was a KFC bucket’, said someone else.
