With the array of ways to get rid of unwanted body hair, it comes as no surprise that not everyone uses the same method. One woman has gone viral on TikTok after vowing to never use a razor again because she has discovered what she claims is a better alternative – sandpaper.

The TikToker, named Jules and posting as @jules49of, starts her video off by explaining that this is her first clip on the platform, before revealing where she heard about the strange trick.

She said: “This is my first TikTok on here, I’ve been stalking you people for a little bit.

“I was watching one of these girls, she’s an accountant, I was learning about the business, anyway, watching this girl, she’s an accountant and she’s talking about shaving her legs with sandpaper.

“She used 600 grit sandpaper on her legs.

“She said, in a circle this way 10 times, in a circle the other way 10 times. I did it.

“My God, my skin is so soft, it’s awesome and it works.”

Jules even shows herself using the sandpaper on her own legs, rubbing it in a circular motion and appearing to feel no pain at all.

She added: “I have been using a frickin’ razor all this time. Just some 600 grit sandpaper. Thank you accountants of TikTok.”

The video quickly went viral, garnering over 1.4 million views and 246,000 likes.

One TikToker said: “I did this years ago with a product I found in the stores… my legs were in a lot of pain the next day. Felt like a bad rug burn all over my legs.”

A second added: “There’s a tool I bought on TV a few years ago that uses sandpaper. I did it on my son’s leg in a circle and he still doesn’t grow hair there. He’s 23.”

Another said: “Great… now cus of this… all the 600 grit sandpaper is gonna be sold out at all the Home Depots and the cashier is gonna know what’s going on.”

A fourth added: “Ever since I started carpentry and as a person with super sensitive skin, sandpaper has been a blessing. Exfoliation AND hair removal? Yes please.”

Despite so many praising the hack, there were others who were more cautious.

One said: “Alright I’m an esthetician, this will rub your skin raw, I wouldn’t recommend.”

Similarly, another added: “You know how many small paper cut you are doing to your skin? The chance of getting an infection.”
