Woman orders giant fluffy rug from Shein – and is left mortified when it arrives

Online shopping can either lead to great bargains or complete disasters.

It was the latter that happened when one woman thought she'd spotted a great deal on a huge fluffy rug for her bedroom on Shein.

An American woman, who posts online under the username @crackermania, was recently browsing on the Home section of the fast fashion website when she came across a furry white rug.

The rug appeared to be of a similar length and width to the bed in the photo and was on sale for less than £15.

Thinking she'd found a steal, she ordered it – only to be left bitterly disappointed when it arrived.

Shein had sent her a rug so tiny that her followers on TikTok thought that it was for a doll house.

The mortified young shopper even posted a snap of the rug next to her foot to prove just how small it was in a video which has gained more than 48,000 views.

In the caption, she warned her fellow shoppers to not make the same mistake, the social media user wrote: ''ALWAYS LOOK AT THE REVIEWS.''

Viewers took to the comments in hysterics over the blunder, with one user writing: "They did you so wrong."

Another joked: "'Just put it in water.. it’ll expand.''

A third commented: "'I was thinking about getting one I said nopeee after I looked at the reviews."

A fourth quipped: "Buy more and stick them."

Shein have been contacted for a comment.

The news comes after a fashion influencer was left disappointed when she bought a few outfits from SHEIN – and couldn't fit in half of her haul.

Christiana, who posts fashion outifts on TikTok to her 900,000 followers, showed fans of what she had ordered from the fast fashion retailer ahead of her trip to Houston in the US.

In her "get ready with me" video, she went for an urban vibe – an orange ribbed knit crop sweater with metal details and a plus camo print flap pocket side cargo pants.
