Viral London Tube Singer Charlotte Awbery Officially Releases Her Cover of Lady Gaga's "Shallow"

After a star was born in February thanks to a viral video of Charlotte Awbery singing "Shallow," the longtime singer has released her official version of the Oscar-winning song.

The viral London Tube singer has stepped back into the spotlight in a major way. 

Six months ago in February, Charlotte Awbery rose to viral fame when footage of her singing a part of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's "Shallow" while on the way to catch a train caught fire online. 

The chance encounter and resulting Internet reaction turned Awbery into a breakout star and even brought her across the Atlantic Ocean to America, where she performed on The Ellen Degeneres Show.

The longtime professional singer has now officially released her version of the Oscar and Grammy-winning track, kicking off the next chapter in her unique story. 

On Friday, Aug. 28, her recording of "Shallow" hit Spotify and YouTube and is available for purchase on iTunes. "This is the first video for my debut release, Shallow," a description of the recording on YouTube reads. "The official video is coming next week, so in the meantime, I hope you enjoy the song!"

On Twitter, Awbery reflected on the milestone moment. "Amazing that this has finally happened!" she tweeted. "I'm so excited that Shallow is finally out today. Thank you everyone xx Watch this space for more of my own music coming soon!"

The release marks another major moment for the previously unknown performer. Back in February, the original video's creator Kevin Freshwater had nothing but praise for Awbery while appearing on the daytime talk show. 

"I was just in shock and she deserves this," he said of the impressive singer. "I was come to tears then, watching you sing. You deserve this."

Meanwhile, her father's advice continues to prove true. As she shared on DeGeneres' show, "My dad's always said to me, 'Just, wherever you are, just always, just sing wherever you are. Never, ever give up.'"
