  • Now another user says women all have a freckle of their opposite breast too

A woman has sent social media into meltdown after noticing that everyone she knows seems to have an identical freckle in the same spot on their wrist.

Aaryn Whitley, believed to be from Florida, kicked off the initial discussion, saying: ‘Ladies, you got a freckle on the middle of your wrist or is this a myth?’

And since her thread went viral this week, prompting people to share pictures of their freckled wrists, things have taken a new twist, with another Twitter user claiming that all women have a freckle on their left breast.

User Cstar, believed to be from the US, wrote on Twitter: ‘Every girl has a freckle on their right wrist and or left boob’

Women weighed in to agree that they too have a freckle on the outer side of their breasts, speculating that it might be due to the area getting a lot of sun exposure in v-neck clothing.

Freckles are formed due to a high deposit of melanin at one spot in the skin. Sun exposure activates production of melanin, which can cause freckles to become darker and more apparent – which might be why the breast and wrist are both freckle hot spots.

When Meghan Markle married Prince Harry back in May, she made a point of wearing only light make-up that let her natural freckles shine through.

The Duchess of Sussex previously revealed in an interview: ‘My pet peeve is when my skin tone is changed and my freckles are airbrushed out of a photo shoot.

‘For all my freckle-faced friends out there, I will share with you something my dad told me when I was younger: “A face without freckles is a night without stars.” ’
