Treat yourself on National Ice Cream with these great deals

07/18/2021

ICE one, son! Today is National Ice Cream Day – the perfect excuse to treat yourself.

You don’t need to part with a lot of lolly for the pleasure.

Cool down, chill out and relax with these freezer specials.

DIVINE DUPES: Kids’ favourite Mini Milks cost £2.25 a pack at Asda but the supermarket’s own-brand version is just 90p.

Love Rowntrees Fruit Pastilles lollies? Me too!

But instead of getting a four-pack at Tesco for £1.90, I buy Iceland’s Rainbow lollies, just £3 for 14 lollies.

The same amount of branded lollies would cost me more than £6.50 at Tesco.

I HEART ICE CREAM: Participate in Wall’s Happy Hearts Challenge competition in partnership with The Co-op to win one of 30,000 ice cream vouchers.

Simply take a photo of your hand in the shape of half a heart and provide your name and phone number, which Wall’s will use to send you a voucher.

Of these, 10,000 offer a free ice cream, while the other 20,000 give you either 50p or 75p off.

TUBS OF FUN: Have an ice time with a tub of Ben & Jerry’s for £3 at Nisa stores, saving you £2.95 on the £5.95 RRP.

Or try the heavenly new Haagen-Dazs Duo Belgian Chocolate & Strawberry ice cream, on offer for £3 at Morrison, down £4.99, saving £1.99.

ICE TRY: The cheapest, healthiest — and I reckon best-tasting — ice cream is the one-ingredient banana ice cream.

Make it by freezing bananas then blending them to a creamy texture.

Another great one for kids is to pop lolly sticks (get a 50-pack for £1 at Wilko) in pots of Petit Filous, on offer at Waitrose for £1, down from £1.50.

SOMETHING NEW: Morrisons has launched a range of crazy cones, including flamingo (with mini flamingo shapes), rainbow (with crispy rainbow rice) and intergalactic with out-of-this-world bubblegum sauces.

All come in four-packs costing £2 each.

If cold ice cream isn’t for you, why not try the new ice cream-flavoured doughnuts from Krispy Kreme?

Available in mint choc chip and raspberry ripple, a Summer Chill dozen will cost you £14.45.

  • Prices are correct at time of going to press. Deals and offers are subject to availability.

Deal of the day

PITCH up in Tesco’s new outdoor range. This £34 four-person, single-layer tent is just £22.50 with a Clubcard.

SAVE: £11.50

Cheap treat

MAKE breakfast sweeter with a 350g jar of Nutella – £2 at Asda, down from £2.90.

SAVE: 90p

What’s new?

IF you love US food, you might be familiar with Kraft’s mac’n’cheese.

Now the firm has launched a limited-edition mac’n’cheese ice cream.

That is only available Stateside at the moment but I wouldn’t put it past Aldi to launch one here soon.
