The very best eyebrow products to shop in 2022 – from long-wear waxes to pigmented pomades

Brows are the must-have beauty accessory of 2022. Whether you’re harking back to the 90s with some Pammy Anderson skinny brows (no judge here), or going full fluffy Zendaya with your arches, you still need good tools to shape, define and hold your eyebrow hairs.

With so many products on the market offering supermodel brows at the swipe of a spoolie, how can you figure out which product is best for you? We’ve enlisted the help of our Real Beauty testing club to figure that out.

Here’s what they had to say about seven new brow launches…

Rose Inc Brow Renew Enriched Tinted Shaping Gel, £19.50 here

What is it? A conditioning brow gel from Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s make-up line, available in four shades, plus a clear version.

Real Beauty tester Melissa says: “This filled in the gaps on my faded microbladed brows very well. The wand is also the perfect size and easy to use. I love using just a little slick for work to neaten my brows and help keep them in place. It stays on without smudging, and it can be built up for a deeper colour and a more defined look."

Lottie London Mega Brow, £8.95 here

A water-activated wax promising a laminated look. Also available in a clear version.

Real Beauty tester Martina says: “This is everything I would expect from a brow shaping product and more! It’s lightweight, applies easily and doesn’t smudge. My partner said my brows looked like I had just gotten them done. It’s very cost effective too, as the compact will last a long while. Definitely my new go-to for brow shaping.” 5/5

Huda Beauty #BOMBBROWS Full ‘n Fluffy Fiber Gel, £16 here

What is it? A brush-on tinted gel loaded with microfibres to add colour and volume.

Real Beauty tester Laura says: “The wand brushed through my eyebrows really well and the product covered up any gaps. I was very impressed with how it looked – it made my brows look fuller, and the medium brown shade was perfect for my fair hair and skin tone. I’ve only given it four stars as I found the wand a little long, meaning I did get a bit of product on my skin.” 4/5

Benefit POWmade Brow Pomade, £18.50 here

What is it? Waterproof and smudge-proof, apply this with a small angled brush for best results.

Real Beauty tester Ginny says: “I LOVE this product! Once you've left the house your brows are set for the day – I've fiddled and rubbed them and they haven't shifted, without looking drawn on. Several people have noted that I look less tired when I’ve worn this. I thought I didn't have the artistry required to produce great looking brows, however this product makes it easy if you're prepared to go slow at first.” 5/5

NYX Professional Makeup The Brow Glue, £7.50 here

What is it? Promising to lift and stick up your brows for a laminated look.

Real Beauty tester Hiromi says: “This feels quite sticky on application but dried well and set my brows for the day, and-the mini mascara style wand was easy to use. I was surprised at how well it held, and it looked really natural. It’s a great product and does what it says on the tin – I just wish it came in a larger tube!” 5/5

Collection incrediBROW Semi-Permanent Brow Gel, £4.99 here

What is it? Available in two shades, apply with the angled end of the brush then comb through with the spoolie.

Real Beauty tester Lynn says: “I found this easy to apply, with a nice small brush that enabled me to capture the smaller hairs at the end of my brows. The look was natural and went on evenly – really pleased with it. On my work call my team noticed my new brows and said I looked fresh and wide awake. It only gets four stars as you may need to reapply again if you’re going out in the evening.” 4/5

Maybelline Tattoo Brow Lift Stick, £9.99 here

What is it? One end has a wax tip – available in shades clear, blonde, soft brown, medium brown, deep brown and black brown – and the other side has a little brush to lift and set the brow hairs in place.

Deputy beauty editor Zoe says: “I was hoping for big things from this product. I’ve seen it do the rounds on TikTok and people seem to get such great, laminated-looking results from the pencil. I tried the clear wax version because I semi-permanently tint my brows darker, and I was just a little underwhelmed. The consistency was buttery rather than waxy, so it didn’t glue my brow hairs very well. It did give them a nice sheen, if you’re looking for that kind of result?” 3/5

Diego Dalla Palma Eyebrow Powder Pencil, £14.50 here

What is it? Delivering the soft-focus finish of a powder with the precision of a pencil.

Real Beauty tester Emily says: “I genuinely adore this product! It does an immaculate job, it’s smooth and easy to apply, and you can get really precise lines with it. I’ve had compliments that my makeup looks really fresh. I can see myself using it in my everyday makeup bag for a long time. I never want to stop using it!” 5/5
