The best hair oils from £10 to shop in 2022, according to Holly Willoughby’s hairstylist

04/06/2022

We haven’t had this fact confirmed, but it looks like Holly Willoughby has very thick hair. It’s just the way it falls into such a blunt shape above her shoulders – no wispiness at all. Though thick hair is a blessing, it can be tricky to tame – something Holly’s hairstylist Ciler Peksah knows a thing or two about.

In a newWylde Moon post, Ciler discusses her favourite hair oils that act as her “secret weapon” against dry ends and frizzy tresses. The list does include some luxe buys over £30, but we’re also delighted to see that she recommends a bargain £9.99 oil too.

The power of a good hair oil can be seen clearly in the before-and-after snaps Ciler shows of Holly. The This Morning presenter, who poses makeup-free for the before image, goes from having untamed tresses to perfectly sleek and styled length – something Ciler credits hair oil for accomplishing.

If you’ve been inspired by Holly’s sleek hair and fancy giving an oil a go for yourself, here are the ones Ciler recommends shopping for seriously smooth results…

Garnier Ultimate Blends Coconut Hair Oil for Frizzy & Curly Hair, £9.99 here

Ciler says she loves using IGK Hair Best Life Hair Oil, £24 here, but also uses this as a bargain alternative. Having smelled this oil for ourselves, we can completely agree with Ciler’s recommendation. Garnier’s version feels weightless on the hair, but also smells like a summer holiday.

JVN Hair Complete Pre-wash Scalp Oil, £24 here

“Safe for coloured hair, it contains basil root extract to help reduce hair loss and hemisqualane to strengthen and smooth hair while protecting against damage,” Ciler says of this oil from Queer Eye star Jonathan Van Ness’ new haircare range.

Aveda Nutriplenish Hair Oil, £31 here

Ciler lists this high-end buy as a favourite of hers, largely due to the fact that it can be used in multiple ways. “I apply it before shampooing as a pre-treatment, as a leave-in conditioner after shampooing or as an intensive overnight conditioner,” she says.

Hair Xpertise Argan Oil Hair Treatment, £12.99 here

“This is enriched with vitamin E, a natural anti-oxidant to nourish, repair and rejuvenate,” says Ciler, who recommends running it through dry hair ends to smooth and eliminate frizz.

Not near a shop? No problem. Ciler says there’s a way to get smooth results with items from your kitchen. Yes, you read that right.

“Mix raw egg, olive oil and honey together and apply from the length and ends, working your way up to your scalp whilst massaging,” the hair pro advises. Just make sure to wash it out after an hour or so!
