Fashionistas from across the globe have been adding a pop of colour to their winter wardrobes with a wildly popular statement coat.

The oversized faux shearling ‘Dory coat’, by Danish fashion house Baum und Pferdgarten, features two patch pockets and allows for an abundance of styling options.

The £389 piece, from the brand’s Pre-Spring 2022 collection, was a staple piece among the Scandi style set at Copenhagen Fashion Week this month and has swept UK social media.

Celebrity stylist Miranda Holder, who founded The Feel Good Fashion Coach, told FEMAIL the brand’s signature blend of ‘femininity and colourful quirkiness’ has captured the attention of the fashion world.

‘Baum und Pferdgarten’s heady combination of femininity and colourful quirkiness with a devil’s eye for detail has led to them being fully embraced by fashionistas around the world,’ she said.

‘Any darling worth their Manolos at fashion week would be proud to be wearing this Scandi brand which serves up just a little bit more edge than some of their European counterparts.’

The stylist said that, with all eyes on Scandinavian fashion and Copenhagen Fashion Week, the coats debut will act as a ‘trailblazer for other formerly more influential destinations to follow.

‘This striking oversized coat from the pre-spring 22 collection which seamlessly fuses vintage inspiration with a contemporary twist also scores highly when it comes to vegan credentials, being made of faux shearling.

Another guests at Copenhagen Fashion Week earlier this month paired the piece with a crystal-studded Prada bag

‘With its clean, bold lines and joyful flourishes it’s very much the statement coat of the moment and will put an effortless spring in the step of the wearer, with the most beautiful hue of vivid aquamarine lifting the spirits of everyone who views it.

‘Baum und Pferdgarten are harnessing the power of colour here and this coat is pure feel good fashion in action.’

Celebrity stylist Rochelle White agreed the lightweight piece is set to take over the fashion world this year, adding that it’s colour means it can be easily styled and suits all skin tones.

‘I think that this coat is becoming a must have for the simple style, flattering colour palettes that suit everyone,’ she said. ‘It is very versatile in regards to how it can be styled and worn and the light blue colour is great across a range of skin tones.

‘It can be worn with dresses and tights, or white tees, jeans and fresh trainers. With coat available in black, light blue and turquoise.

Fashion influencer Petronella Ekroth, from Stockholm, styled the coat with a multicoloured winter scarf

A boutique owner from Elgin, who specialises in Danish and British fashion, posed wearing the stylish coat earlier this year

‘It is being predicted that this coat is going to be a must have for Spring of 2022, which I think could then lead into Autumn 2022. As it is lightweight, it is perfect for the Winter to Spring transition.’

The garment, which also comes in black, is perfect for adding some much-needed flair to wardrobes and has gained a growing following amongst fashion conscious social media users.
