Tesco is selling a film advent calendar with 12 free movies including Arthur Christmas and Peter Rabbit – The Sun

SWAP chocolates for family time with this movie night advent calendar featuring 12 family favourites including Arthur Christmas, Peter Rabbit and more.

Each door reveals a code that lets you digitally download the film onto a compatible device – perfect for keeping the little ones entertained.

You can access your films via Rakuten TV, which works on most computers, smartphones, tablets and smart TVs.

Rakuten TV is an online streaming platform that is totally free to join, but you do have to pay to download and rent titles once you sign up.

Once you have downloaded your free movies using the code they are yours to keep, so you can enjoy them across multiple devices anytime.

Individual films on Rakuten TV cost between £6 and £7 to buy, with the total cost of the rentals included in the advent calendar totalling £80.

But, the advent calendar costs just £25 – saving you £55 compared to purchasing all the films individually.

Which movies are included?

  • Stuart Little (1999)
  • Hotel Transylvania (2012)
  • Men in Black (1997)
  • Jumanji (1995)
  • Annie (2014)
  • Matilda (1996)
  • The Emoji Movie (2017)
  • Christmas With The Kranks (2004)
  • Smurfs: The Lost Village (2017)
  • Oliver! (1968)
  • Arthur Christmas (2011)
  • Peter Rabbit (2018)

And, all the titles included in the advent calendar are rated U or PG, meaning they can be enjoyed by the whole family.

The advent calendar retails for £25 – working out at just £2 per film – and is available at selected Tesco, WHSmith and Argos stores.

It isn’t currently available on any of these stores websites, but you can buy the advent calendar online for the same price at zoom.co.uk – just remember to factor in shipping costs.

We have contacted Tesco, WHSmith and Argos to ask when the advent calendar will be available to purchase online.

The advent calendars, which were released today (October 28) have already been spotted in Tesco by Instagram user @_well_this_is_new_.

You can view all the movies included in the advent calendar on the Rakuten TV website.

Tesco has also brought back its 3D After Eight advent calendar that is shaped like Big Ben.

For a classier option, last year's sell-out cheese advent calendar is back in stores.
