Target, Micheals, Walgreens and 17 more stores open on Thanksgiving 2019

WHETHER you've forgotten a last minute ingredient for your Thanksgiving meal or you just want to access Black Friday deals, it's useful to know which shops are open over the holiday period.

Fortunately, we've done the hard part and found out the opening hours for twenty of the most popular US stores.

Here's our list of the shops that will be open and what their hours are:

Walmart

Walmart has confirmed that it will be operating its usual opening hours over Thanksgiving.

This means times may vary from store to store.

So if your usual Walmart is open 24 hours, it will be on Thanksgiving too. If it normally has restricted hours – these will still apply.

If you're not sure what your local hours are, you can chose your nearest one on Walmart's store locator and it will tell you.

Macy's

Macy's told the Sun that most of its stores will be open from 5pm on Thanksgiving Day this year.

If you want to double check with your nearest outlet, use the store locator and then call the number provided to double check hours.

A spokesperson said: "As we do every year, we surveyed our incredible colleagues in our stores to understand their Thanksgiving staffing preferences and allow them to opt-in for shifts.

"Colleagues who work any shift on Thanksgiving day will be compensated with overtime pay."

Dollar General

Most Dollar General stores will be open on Thanksgiving from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Massachusetts, Maine and Rhode Island store locations will not be open on Thanksgiving Day, per state laws.

Target

Target stores will open at 5 p.m. on Thursday 28 November, and remain open until 1 a.m. on Friday 29 November.

Stores will re-open on Friday morning at 7 a.m.

JCPenney

At Thanksgiving most JCPenney stores open at 2 p.m. local time and remain open through to 10pm on Black Friday.

The following Saturday, 30 November, most stores will open early at 8am.
Black Friday deals begin online at jcp.com and on the JCPenney app at midnight central time on Wednesday, 7 November.

Best Buy

Best Buy's website says that most stores will open at 5pm on Thanksgiving day and close at 1am on Friday, November 29.

The stores will then re-open at 8am on Black Friday and remain open until 10pm.

Select Best Buy stores will not be open on Thursday, November 28, and will have different opening times:

• Maine Best Buy stores open at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, November 29. Tickets for the two Friday doorbusters will be handed out starting at 7 a.m.
• Massachusetts and Rhode Island Best Buy stores open at 1 a.m. on Friday, November 29. Tickets for the two Friday doorbusters will be handed out starting at 7 a.m.
• The two Paramus, New Jersey Best Buy stores will open at 5 p.m. and close at 11 p.m. on Thursday, November 28, and then reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday, November 29.
• Mall-based Best Buy store hours may vary based on mall hours.

Dick's Sporting Goods

Most Dick's locations nationwide will offer extended store hours on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

On Thanksgiving Day, most stores will open at 6pm local time and remain open until 2am local time on Friday.

Most stores will re-open at 5am local time and remain open until 10pm.

Kohl's

Kohl's stores will open at 5pm on Thanksgiving Day and run through to 1pm local time on Friday.

It will be running Black Friday deals from Monday, November 25 to Friday, November 29.

Walgreens

All Walgreens stores will be open at their regular hours on Thanksgiving Day and over Black Friday, so just check to see when yours is usually open using the store locator.

Stores that are usually open for 24 hours will continue to be over the holiday period.

There will be 24 pharmacies open and select other pharmacies will open with modified hours.

You can check with your local pharmacy for specific location hours.

Rite Aid

Most Rite Aid locations will open bright and early at 7am on Thanksgiving Day.

Again, opening hours may vary from location to location, so you can check with you local using the store finder tool.

The store has not yet confirmed what its Black Friday hours will be.

Old Navy

Old Navy is kicking its Black Friday sales off early opening at 8am the day before Thanksgiving (Wednesday, 7 November) and shutting at 10pm.

On Thanksgiving Day itself the store will open at 3pm and then stay open all through the nigh, finally shutting its doors at 11pm on Black Friday.

During that period, customers can get almost half off on almost everything in store.

Big Lots

This year Big Lots is set to offer some of the longest opening hours, according to 9to5toys.com.

On Thanksgiving Day itself stores will open at 7am, while on Black Friday customers will be able to shop from 6am.

On the Saturday shops will start trading at 8am.

Closing times vary from store to store, so check with your local.

Kmart

On Thanksgiving Day stores will be open from 6am till midnight.

On Black Friday stores will be open from 6am until 10pm – although stores in Massachusetts, Maine and Rhode Island will be open to midnight as well as some other selected stores.

Sears

On Thanksgiving Day stores will be open from 6am till midnight.

On Black Friday stores will be open from 5am until 10pm – although stores in Massachusetts, Maine and Rhode Island will be open to midnight as well as some other selected stores.

Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's

Most of the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s store will be open from 8am .- 6pm on Thanksgiving Day.

The stores listed below will be closed:

• Foxborough, Mass.
• Scarborough, Maine
• Berlin, Mass.

Michaels

Michaels has not yet released its Black Friday or Thanksgiving opening hours, but we are expecting it to be open on both days.

According to deals website BlackFriday.com on Thanksgiving Day the store will be open from 6pm to midnight, while on Black Friday itself it will be opening from 7am to 10pm.

Family Dollar

Family Dollar stores will open at 7am on Thanksgiving Day with a selection of deals only available on that day.

It has not yet confirmed its full opening hours for Black Friday.

You can find your nearest Family Dollar store here and if you speak to the store staff they should be able to give you more precise opening hours.

Ulta Beauty

Last year, Ulta Beauty opened its doors at 6pm on Thanksgiving Day and stayed open until midnight, and we expect it will have similar hours this year.

Unfortunately, it has not yet confirmed what those hours will be.

For Black Friday, hours are expected to be from 6am to 10pm.

You can ring up your local and enquire about opening hours over the holiday period.

Gordmans

Gordmans will be open from 3pm on Thanksgiving Day until 1am the following morning.

Stores will then reopen on Black Friday at 6pm.
