Start the day right this winter with a nutritious breakfast to stay healthy

THIS winter we all need to look after our health – and having a nutritious breakfast is a step in the right direction.

Today I look at foods to start the day, while Tara tests body make-up that will help you glow throughout Christmas.

COLD – TRIBE have just launched Active Oats+, instant breakfast oats that are gluten-free and high-fibre.

It’s instant overnight oats. Just add milk or nut milk and serve. You can warm them up in the microwave too.

Comes in four flavours – I loved the Apple, Blueberry + Pecan. Each contains one billion gut-friendly cultures, 10g plant protein, ten vitamins and minerals with 30 per cent of your NRV.

My boys were so excited about their 1st footie match… now I'll never take them

HOT – MOMA have a huge range of jumbo oat porridges. Their instant pots are great – you simply peel back the lid, pour over boiling water and leave for a few minutes.

Great if you are in a rush. My favourite is the filling Coconut and Chia which contains wholegrain gluten-free oats (77 per cent), coconut milk, desiccated coconut and chia seeds.

They have a lovely coconut taste but aren’t sickly sweet. 234kcal per 55g pot, 17.6 per cent fat and 6g of protein.

REDUCED-SUGAR JAM – Jam sales have shot up in the past year by 22 per cent.

Many are full of sugar but Fearne & Rosie create jams and honey with 40 per cent less than standard jam at their family factory in Yorkshire using local ingredients.

Their new antioxidant-rich Strawberry and Cranberry Reduced Sugar Jam has just 3.4g of sugars per 10g serving which, for a jam, is low. Tastes amazing and perfect for Christmas.

BUDGET: For a reliable shimmer that won’t break the bank this easy-to-apply Rimmel hero product offers a streak-free shine, perfect for your pins.

It’s water-resistant rather than waterproof so remember to shield shoulders under a brolly rather than risking water splodges in the rain.

It washes off in the shower with soap and water but doesn’t leave stains on white bedding. A winning glow.

MID RANGE: The best features about this foundation are its lightweight touch and impressive coverage, smoothly gliding over and disguising scar and uneven skin tone.

I wore it on my decolletage over an eight-hour period and it kept up a healthy glow for the entirety. For best effects, I paired it with a primer but it can be used on its own.

There are lots of different shades to colour-match any skin tone. I also liked the dewy effect, which translated well in photos.

  • Mac Studio Face and Body Foundation 120ml £32, – buy now

LUXURY: Achieve celebrity limbs fast with this luxury product. The application experience is delightful thanks to the cooling menthol and soothing aloe vera ingredients.

The summer glimmer, accentuated by its precious-metal highlighter mix, is flattering on the skin and smoothed over my winter puffiness.

I felt leaner, slimmer and more supple thanks to the shine. Worth the price tag. My favourite.
