'Spider-Man: No Way Home' Deleted Scene Could Have Shown Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in the Sam Raimi and ‘AMazing Spider-Man’ Universes

Marvel juggled a lot of characters in the latest Tom Holland Spider-Man movie. Spider-Man: No Way Home deleted scenes show fans that the Marvel movie could have taken dozens of different directions. It could have included America Chavez or Tom Hardy’s Venom joining the fight at the Statue of Liberty against the upgraded Spider-Man villains. However, one Spider-Man: No Way Home deleted scene reportedly would have shown Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire back in The Amazing Spider-Man movies and the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy.

Spider-Man: No Way Home post-credits scenes gave fans a glimpse at Dr. Strange and Scarlet Witch diving into the multiverse. However, in a Spider-Man: No Way Home deleted scene, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire almost took up a post-credit scene.

According to YouTuber Emergency Awesome, the filmmakers had alternate post-credits scenes they planned for Maguire and Garfield’s versions of Spider-Man.

“What was going to happen,” Emergency Awesome notes, “is that they were going to just use those post-credits scenes to tease what would be happening with their characters next after they went back to their own universes.”

However, the last time fans saw Maguire, Garfield, Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock, and other nostalgic characters was after the fight when Dr. Strange cast the second spell.

He mentions that Marvel and Sony might save those moments for possible future appearances.

Andrew Garfield teased the possibility of his Spider-Man returning

While Spider-Man: No Way Home deleted scenes could have confirmed that fans would see more of Garfield and Maguire in the MCU, Andrew Garfield has already teased his return. The next time though, he might have to tell Emma Stone about his return.

“Never say never,” Garfield told Entertainment Tonight. “It’s a character that’s always going to be so meaningful to me.”

Garfield thinks that his character has a lot more potential on-screen. And since Sony canceled The Amazing Spider-Man 3, his story ended partly incomplete.

“There was so many unanswered questions for my Peter, where we left it. I got to step back in and get some healing for him,” Garfield said.

Writers Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna for ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ want to see more of the two Spider-Men beyond the deleted scenes

Fans were not the only ones buzzing about the return of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire and a future in Marvel movies like Morbius. Spider-Man: No Way Home writers Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna want to see more of the classic heroes.

In an interview with Variety, they were asked if they could return.

“I would hope so!” McKenna said. “I would love to see more of their journey. We even talked about, ‘Oh, we could do a [post-credits] tag with this one! We could do a tag with that one!’”

While the Spider-Man: No Way Home deleted scenes did not make the final cut, fans might have some exciting news to look forward to down the line about the first actors to play Peter Parker.
