A food blogger has revealed her tasty recipe for a chocolate cake – and it's without using any milk, butter or eggs.
Andrea Soranidis, best known as Petite Cook online, created a glorious cake recipe that you can bake at home using basic store cupboard essentials.
And the culinary mastermind claims that this tasty cake can be made without butter, milk or eggs, which is perfect if you’re vegan.
Posting on her website, thepetitecook.com, Andrea said: “Difficult times call for creative measures and among many things, this includes reinventing the way we cook and bake."
She continued: “Local supermarkets have been experiencing a shortage of dairy and eggs lately, so I’m trying to use milk, butter and eggs as wisely as possible.
“This means I haven’t made many complicated desserts lately, but I’ve been working on ways to make simple sweet treats using pantry staples, and as fewer ingredients as possible.
"This basic cake recipe definitely fits the bill.”

Here are the ingredients:
- Baking powder
- Vanilla extract or paste
- Cocoa powder
Here is the method:
Start by mixing the olive oil, water and vanilla in a small bowl, then set it aside until needed.
In a large bowl, sift the flour together with the baking powder and mix well. Then add in the sugar and cocoa powder.
Slowly pour the oil and water mix into the dry ingredients and gently mix with a whisker until combined and lump-free.
Spray with baking oil in a springform cake pan, then pour in the cake batter and the top by using a spatula.
Bake in the oven for about 40 minutes, then check with a toothpick by inserting it into the centre of the cake to see if it’s done.
If the toothpick comes out clean, then the cake is ready and you can remove it from the oven.
Finally, allow it to cook completely before removing it from the pan, then you can dust with confectioner sugar if you like and enjoy.
