With the cameras rolling, Shawn Mendes is exposing who he really is in his new Netflix documentary, “In Wonder.”

In a trailer released Tuesday, the Canadian singer, 22, strips down and soaps up in the shower as he reveals how he started out as a performer.

“Is it hard to protect that pure thing that started it all?” a voice off-camera asks, as Mendes sullenly nods.

“You first get on the stage and ego comes rushing in,” he explains. “I’m just a guy and I love music. Time to surrender.”

The documentary, which is slated to be released Nov. 23 on the streaming platform, follows Mendes on his most recent tour, as he traveled to North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. The TIFF special event selection also features footage from his early life as he sheds light on his personal “journey toward self-discovery.”

“This isn’t a story about a famous musician,” he says. “This is a story about a guy growing up.”

The trailer’s release comes on the heels of the release of “Wonder,” the title track off Mendes’ forthcoming album, set to be released through Island Records on Dec. 4.

“I wonder what it’s like if I tell the world that I’m just a normal human,” he asks, as footage of his skyrocket to fame shows, along with cameos from fellow mega-star girlfriend Camila Cabello. “Are they gonna stop, like, coming to the shows?”
