Although he’s found success now, “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” star Gavin Leatherwood says a “weird living situation” once led him to sleep on a New York park bench.

Leatherwood, now 26, told Page Six that the night outside took place six years ago, when he was living in the city, had no real friends and chose not to go home one night.

“I had gone into the two bars I knew I could get into at age 20 and I waited until, like, 4 a.m.,” the actor, who plays Nick Scratch on the Netflix series, told Page Six.

He found himself bundled up on a Union Square park bench waiting for his 8 a.m. shift to start at a nearby restaurant.

“I had a beanie over one eye and I was sitting sort of slouched,” he explained. “I had a pocket knife in my pocket. It was cold too … I went and did my shift and was like, ‘Holy s–t, I slept on a park bench last night!’”

The actor said he sometimes misses working in the restaurant industry, telling us, “There’s something strangely therapeutic and physical about it that was rewarding.” However, “That day at work was not fun.”

These days, Leatherwood has been hard at work putting together an album, which has left little time for a love life.

“I’m single right now,” he told us. “My guitar is kind of girlfriend as of late. I’ve just been playing a lot of music. Just working on this music album and she’s been my main love.”

But when the time comes to find his leading lady, he is still learning how to find someone who’s with him for the “right reasons.”

“It’s hard to kind of look out for,” he said. “You rely on other people around you to maybe see those signs as well.”

He added that his family has a good eye for seeing through someone.

“I feel like I do too, but it’s easy to get blinded by someone’s beauty … I guess time is the greatest indicator, true colors come out the more time you spend with someone,” he said. “It’s easy to fall in love, it’s hard to stay in love.”
