Royal Expert Noticed This About Harry & William’s Responses To The Diana Inquiry – Exclusive

We hardly ever see Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, being anything but smiling and cordial. But we saw a different side to the prince when he delivered a statement condemning the BBC for failing to investigate the way in which the public service broadcaster obtained its interview with his mother Diana, Princess of Wales. His reaction to the inquiry was delivered via video, while Prince Harry sent out a written statement. In the video, Prince William said: “It is my view that the deceitful way the interview was obtained substantially influenced what my mother said. The interview was a major contribution to making my parents’ relationship worse and has since hurt countless others” (via Town & Country).

Harry’s reactions to the findings paid tribute to Diana’s legacy even as he criticized the media, saying, “Our mother was an incredible woman who dedicated her life to service. She was resilient, brave, and unquestionably honest. The ripple effect of a culture of exploitation and unethical practices ultimately took her life” (via News.com.au).

Expert: Communication between Prince William and Prince Harry is nonexistent

It was through the statements that royal expert Kinsey Schofield, founder of British royal family news website To Di For Daily, says she could see not just how both brothers continue to process their mother’s passing, but the state of their relationship as well, noting, “There is a stark contrast in Prince William and Prince Harry’s statements in response to the BBC investigation. Prince William repeatedly refers to Princess Diana as ‘my mother’ while Prince Harry refers to the Princess as ‘our mother.'”

More than that, Schofield says, “This tells me that communication between Prince William and Prince Harry is nonexistent. Utilizing the term ‘our mother’ almost insinuates that Prince Harry is speaking for the both of them. I think that this was done innocently and with good intention. Either Prince William did not want to discuss his statement with Prince Harry ahead of time to confirm and include him or he, sadly, is purposely excluding him.”

She feels Harry’s written statement might have been a peace offering to his older brother, who would have been angered by Harry’s interviews about the royal family. “Was Prince Harry’s statement an olive branch? A subtle, ‘You will always be my brother. We’re in this together.’ reminder? I believe so,” said Schofield, adding, “Meanwhile, Prince William is really branding himself as a leader and someone that is very protective of his family’s legacy and future.”
