  • Expert revealed how the dual perspective can be more engaging for followers

A branding expert has revealed how ‘twinfluencers’ have become the next big thing, following the explosion of Instagram models since the platform’s launch.

Twin influencers of all ages and genders have been on the rise in recent years, often pulling in double the audience – and advertising power – and becoming a favourite for many brands due to their unique ability to fascinate followers.

Instagram models in their twenties, include Laura and Klaudia Badura, 28, from London, who started modelling at a young age, before being featured in Playboy – now boasting almost 230,000 followers.

Meanwhile children are also getting in on the action, with mums gaining interest for sponsored posts from an influx of kids’ clothing and toys companies, with Victoria Morell, 35, from Birmingham, captivating her 9,000 followers with two sets of twins – Seve and Aurelio, 5, and Nico and Rafael, 1.

And the men aren’t immune to the obsession – across the pond Ethan and Grayson Dolan, 19, from New Jersey, have racked up a staggering 4.7 million followers.

Speaking to Femail about the phenomenon, Hannah Kathleen Hawkshaw, digital marketing expert and founder of iGen Creative, explained why twins ‘can have twice the pulling power’.

She said: ‘People have always had a fascination with twins, and the family element of their respective brands is part of the appeal of twin influencers.

‘Monetarily, there is most definitely an opportunity for twins. From a brand perspective, there’s a special value proposition in working with a duo – especially twins – because there’s a unique creativity that can be explored when it comes to the product presentation.

‘Their personal relationship will shine through their content, creating a much more engaging story; one that offers two perspectives to the audience and variations in how the product is presented.

‘We love seeing people’s personalities, and twins offer two perspectives to their followers that a solo influencer simply can’t provide.’
