Parents say kids are in tears after opening EMPTY Cadbury advent calendars – The Sun

CHILDREN have been left in tears after their Cadbury advent calendar was missing the key ingredient behind the door – chocolate.

Empty windows have appeared across a range of different Christmas countdown calendars, including a Dairy Milk and a Heroes one.

In fact, at least four fans have found that their Christmas countdowns have been completely choc-free.

Parents have been complaining to the confectionery makers on Twitter after the mishap left their kids "disappointed", "upset" and "in tears".

After discovering nothing behind day one of her children's Dairy Milk classic 1997 design calendar, Michelle Wilson said: "Imagine my children's faces when they opened their Advent Calendars to find nothing behind the window.

"Both calendars are completely empty!!"

A furious Lloyd Morris also discovered that his daughter's calendar was completely empty after he pulled out the chocolate tray behind the windows.

He wrote: "@Cadbury Good work. Got this advent calendar for my daughter and it's empty."

"@CadburyUK #cadburys #AdventCalendar one upset five year old this morning when his advent calendar is totally empty," Gill Appleton said after realising that there was no chocolate at all in her calendar.

Andrew Lamont said: "@CadburyUK my lad opened his advent Calendar and there’s no chocolate.

"Opened the back and it’s empty. Cheers sons crying. Nice one".

Another chocolate fan said: "@CadburyUK ummmm just opened day 2 of my hero’s advent calendar and it’s empty."

The calendars are available to buy online and in store from retailers such as Amazon, Sainsbury's, Tesco and Asda, and cost around £1.50 each.

It's not the first time that customers have been disappointed to find no chocolate behind the windows of their Cadbury advent calendar.

Last year, the Cadbury Heroes advent calendar sparked fury as fans discovered missing treats.

Customers can get a full refund for the faulty calendars that aren't as they were described or doesn't do what it says it should.

You'll need to return it to the store that you bought it from and show the customer service team the receipt to get your money back.

The Sun has contacted Cadbury for comment.
