The TV chef has a fortune of around £15million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Releasing her first cookery book more than 20 years ago, it is no surprise that she has built up a staggering wealth.

Nigella was born in Wandsworth, London, on January 6, 1960.

She is the daughter of former Conservative Chancellor of the Exchequer Nigel Lawson and Vanessa Lawson, whose family owned a food and catering business.

Nigella put her food knowledge to good use from the moment she began working.

The chef first started earning money as a restaurant critic and book reviewer before becoming the deputy literary editor of The Sunday Times.

She then continued her career as a freelance journalist before penning her first cookery book.

In 1998, Nigella released How to Eat which went on to sell 300,000 copies and become a bestseller.

Two-years-later, she topped up her bank balance with her award-winning second book How to Be a Domestic Goddess.

Since then, she has released 12 books including one that features Christmas recipes and another inspired by Italian cuisine.

Her fifth book, Feast: Food that Celebrates Life reportedly brought in an impressive £3million.

As well as enjoying success with her books, Nigella has regularly appeared on TV to share her domestic wisdom.

She hosted her first show Nigella Bites which aired on Channel 4 between 1999 and 2001.

The mother-of-two has since fronted programmes including Nigella Feasts and Nigella Kitchen.

Along with her cooking shows, Nigella launched her own range of homeware in 2002.

The brand, named Living Kitchen, is thought to be worth a staggering £7million.

The popular chef is also thought to have money in property and previously lived in a London home which had a valuation of £7million.

Most recently, she is thought to be living in a mews house in central London which is worth £5million.
