Neighbours actress reveals what's next for Toadie and Dee

07/23/2019

Neighbours’ Toadie (Ryan Moloney) was hit by an emotional train when he learned that though Andrea (Madeleine West) had previously conned him into believing Dee Bliss had survived the fatal car crash all those years ago, she had in fact survived after all.

Not only that, he goes on to learn Andrea is essentially her evil twin and Heather, the woman who tried to kill his wife Sonya with weed killer, is Dee’s biological mum.

He slowly gets his head around this monumental situation, but will he ever get to the point of rediscovering his feelings for the wife he thought had drowned on their wedding day? Especially having just lost another wife to cancer?

Dee comes to realise her heart definitely belongs to her ex and is on the verge of telling Toadie exactly how she feels – having spent so much time with him and having a chance to slot back into her old life, she’s realised she can’t deny she still loves him.

That’s not what Susan wants to hear as she fears for Toadie being so vulnerable after Sonya’s only recent death and is prepared to protect Toadie at all costs/

But will Dee’s declaration of her true feelings mean a cosy future for her and her ex? Actress Kerry Armstrong revealed to metro.co.uk what she thinks their future holds.

‘I think that Toadie is still brokenhearted about Sonya, he is so tired and broken,’ she confessed, hinting that there might not be a future for the former lovers.

‘He just wants to be with his children.  I actually think he needs some time alone and to just focus on bringing up his children. I don’t think viewers need to see him with anyone for a while.’

Could this put paid to the thought of romance between these two? Or will Toadie struggle to suppress his own feelings?

Dee is also finally set to learn what really happened to her at birth as Heather undergoes hypnosis to unlock her lost memory

‘The backstory is that Heather had no idea that she had given birth to twins,’ Kerry explained. ‘She was anaesthetised, woke up with one baby and always thought something was missing but never ever considered that she had lost a child.

‘And she was appalled, angry and brokenhearted that she had Dee taken away from her and she said in the story, that she would never ever have given them up.’

Will they be able to repair their relationship or is the damage just too deep?

Actress Kerry has had a ball playing the deeply fascinating Heather. She is not your average baddie; she’s hugely complex and deep down is motivated by love. But Kerry admitted it was ‘distressing’ at times to play her.

Speaking about what it’s been like playing her and for being the one to poison well-loved character Sonya, Kerry explained: ‘What was interesting is that fans were actually congratulating me on the performance which was just lovely from an acting perspective when playing a character like Heather because while to watch it at times it was distressing, the fans were also thoroughly entertained and that is a huge compliment.

‘I’m traveling a lot at the moment so I have people coming up to me at airports and saying how much they loved the story because she is so outrageous, they just love to hate her.’

What’s next for Heather once the truth about her daughters comes out?

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
