My husband keeps pestering shop worker for her number – I'm ashamed

04/24/2022

DEAR DEIDRE: IF he bothers the girl behind the till again, my husband is going to get banned from our local shop.

This girl told me he pesters her for her phone number and said she will complain if it happens again.

She’s not the only one.

When someone catches my husband’s eye, he always tells them he wishes he was young again.

I feel humiliated and ashamed of his actions.

He’s 75 and I’m 73. When I confronted him, he said it’s all nonsense.

I feel repulsed when I look at him now.

This isn’t a new phase, either. An old friend I hadn’t seen for ages recently asked my husband if he was “still chasing it”.
