Murder probe launched after post mortem reveals man actually stabbed to death

A man whose body was found in a flat in south east London last week was murdered, police say.

Officers found the body of Barrington Davis in Lewisham on Wednesday May 16.

Neighbours of Mr Davis had raised concerns about the occupant having not seen him for several days.

Officers attended, forced entry to the flat and found a man dead at the location.

The death was originally treated as non-suspicious, however on removal to the mortuary some suspicious injuries were noted, Scotland Yard said in a statement this evening. 

A post-mortem on Sunday revealed that Mr Davis had received multiple stab wounds.

A murder investigation has been launched.
