Mum accused of turning baby into ‘thug’ by applying fake tattoos to him

A mum was slammed for covering her baby in temporary tattoos.
Shamekia Morris started placing the transfer tatts on little Treylin when he was six months old.
The fashion designer, from Florida, US, loved the eye-catching effect she got from decorating his stomach, arms, back and legs.
But even though the body art isn’t real, Shamekia has been branded a “bad mum” and accused of turning the tot into a “thug”.
Shamekia told the Love Don’t Judge show: “The backlash has been horrible. It hurts my feelings because I know I'm not a bad mum and I get called all types of names. It's crazy.
“If you're judging someone off of a 30-second video on social media that's your business, but what you say or think about someone isn't going to determine what they're going to be in the future.”
Thankfully, Shamekia tries not to take these comments to heart.
She explained: “For the people that judge me, I don't care because this is a lifestyle that we enjoy.”
The mum is also glad to have the support of her family – who were initially a bit apprehensive about the temporary tattoos.
She revealed: “When I first started tattooing Treylin, my family hated it because they don't like that I have tattoos. My family was very upset.
“But now that they see it could be something positive, they love it. 'Cause when we're out, he gets a lot of attention and kids really love the tattoos.”
Shamekia’s love for body art has helped her to garner 300,000 followers on TikTok.
The family are very grateful for all the support they have received – and hope the social media success will provide a positive future for Treylin.
Shamekia’s sister, Dinera, said: “When Shamekia came up with the idea, I wasn't down with it, I was totally against it. I did not want her to do that with him.
"But since I've seen where it could take her and Treylin, I didn't have no issue with it because it turned out to be a positive thing.”
And Treylin’s aunt Ilisha added: “The very first time Shamekia told me about the tattoos, my first reaction was – they're going to call DCF on you. But I'm proud of Shamekia and the life she's making for Treylin.”
