M&S launches home delivery from 142 branches before its £750m Ocado deal starts in September

MARKS & Spencer shoppers can now get groceries delivered to their doors in 30 minutes from 142 of the supermarket's branches.

The expanded delivery service with Deliveroo, which launched yesterday, comes ahead of its £750million deal with Ocado set to start in September.

Shoppers can choose from 130 M&S items, including food, drinks and household products.

These include basics such as fruit, vegetables, pasta, alcohol and toilet roll.

Hungry Brits can also order its restaurant-style ready meals, including Indian, Chinese, Italian and Gastropub dishes.

The nationwide expansion follows a trial with around 100 M&S BP franchise stores in March, and is an aim to help families in coronavirus lockdown.

There is a flat £4.99 delivery charge to use the service.

You can sign up for Deliveroo premium for £11.49 per month to pay less per delivery, but this is only worth it if you use the app regularly.

 To get the home delivery, you'll need to download the free Deliveroo app.

Once you have it, enter your delivery address to find an M&S store close to you or search for M&S in the search bar and select the one nearest you.

M&S is also set to deliver its full range through online supermarket Ocado from September.  

This was announced in February this year, and brought an end to Ocado's long-running partnership with Waitrose.

The new delivery service comes after M&S rolled out essentials boxes for £35, helping those who may be self-isolating at home.
