M&S just launched £35 ‘cosy’ thermal jeans – and they’re a winter wardrobe essential

The current snowy weather might be giving us all the winter wonderland feels ahead of Christmas, but if there’s one thing we can’t handle it’s how cold we suddenly are.

From your daily commute to work to braving some festive drinks with friends, you may have suddenly realised that your wardrobe isn’t quite managing to nail the balance between being both warm and chic. Sure you probably have plenty of snuggly jumpers, fluffy socks and big coats hanging in your closet, but if there’s one thing that doesn’t quite hack it during the chilly temperature it’s your favourite pair of jeans.

They may be an absolute outfit essential, but it's no secret that jeans aren’t cut out for the winter, leaving your legs absolutely freezing.

Although you can of course layer some thermals underneath bigger, baggier styles, for slimmer fitting jeans squeezing an extra layer underneath them is a no-go, which is why Marks and Spencer’s Ivy Thermal High Waisted Skinny Jeans, £35 here, will become your new wardrobe essential this winter.

TheIvy Thermal Jeansare cut in a figure-hugging skinny fit (sorry Gen Z) and have an ankle-grazing length that makes them perfect for tucking into chunky boots or wearing with trainers.

Theylook and function just like real jeans, with five pockets, belt loops and a stretch denim material, however they’re hiding a very cosy secret.

The jeans are much thicker than regular denim jeans with a thermal lining which traps in heat and prevents the outside cold from seeping through, making them perfect for the current snowy winter weather.

You’d never know it by looking at them, which makes them ideal for wearing everywhere from the office to brunch and Christmas parties, butthey’ll make sure you stay extra cosy and warmeven when the temperature hits minus figures outside.

Shoppers have been racing to snap them up, and have left some glowing reviews of the Ivy Thermal High Waisted Skinny Jeans, £35 here.

One reviewer said: “Absolutely love them, so comfortable and YES very cosy. They are true to size and length. This year I am feeling the cold, so am wearing these more than often…I have bought 2 pairs so far…aim to order the black soon. Well worth the money”

Whilst another wrote: “Love them, lovely soft inside, I’ve bought these. As we are spending Christmas in Canada, haven’t worn them yet but I’ve tried them on, they fit lovely and we’ll be nice and warm.”

A third also said: “Just bought the jeans and I’m very pleased with them. They are so comfortable and cosy to wear, brilliant for me as I don’t like the cold!”

The jeans come in three different colours and are available in petite, regular and long lengths, with a size range spanning from 6-22.

If you need something with a little extra warmth, the Vetinee Fleece Lined Jeans, £39.99 here, also look just like regular jeans but have a thick, fluffy fleece lining that helps make them extra warm and snuggly, whilst still being super comfortable and stretchy – perfect for wearing day to day.

Staying warm without compromising on style? That’s our kind of fashion hack.
