Miley Cyrus gets ‘freedom’ tattoo after divorce from Liam Hemsworth

The “Mother’s Daughter” singer, 27, is continuing to add tattoos to her vast collection, including what appears to be a pointed message at estranged husband Liam Hemsworth: “freedom” in script on her right hand.
Cyrus recently stopped by the studio of celebrity tattoo artist Winterstone, who has inked Lady Gaga, Kevin Jonas, Chrissy Teigen and many more, for two new designs. Besides “freedom,” Cyrus also got a personal note from Yoko Ono on the back of her left shoulder that simply reads, “I’m proud of u.”
The additions are part of a slew of uplifting designs Cyrus has had tattooed since filing for divorce from Hemsworth. At the MTV VMAs in August, when she was still dating Kaitlynn Carter, Cyrus debuted a telling line from the 1990 Pixies song “The Thing” — “My head was feeling scared, but my heart was feeling free” — in cursive on her left bicep, also done by Winterstone.
She has since hit up the tattoo shop with boyfriend Cody Simpson on more than one occasion, but she appears to have sworn off of matching tattoos for a while.
Hemsworth and Cyrus announced their split in August after less than a year of marriage. The two have since unfollowed each other on Instagram.
